Fall Wedding Colors
Traditionally, fall wedding colors have encompassed the hues of the season. Whether the color theme you choose for your fall wedding is traditional and warm, edgy and high-contrast trendy, or soft and elegant, be sure that your theme speaks directly to the person you are and the colors you love.
Falling leaf oranges, deep reds, warm browns, and harvest golds have generally prevailed for fall weddings in years past. If you love those warm, rich shades, you can create a smashing, modern color scheme for your wedding by choosing contrasting combinations of these shades. Emberglow, bamboo and coffee liqueur are a natural combo while a trio of honeysuckle, cedar and beeswax brighten up a classic fall color theme.
Those warm, earthy tones, aren't your bag? Not to worry--you can still embrace the feel of the season with color choices you love. Try phlox purple or deep red combined with barely there, muted shades like cream or Silver Peony. Deep navy is a hit when paired with bamboo. Deep teal is terrific paired with cream or nougat.
Looking for classic and cool without a lot of frills? Fall wedding color schemes, by no means, must lack for elegance. Try simple and chic combinations such as cedar paired with cream or nougat paired with coffee liqueur.
Truly, any color can be used in fall if you pair it with the right on-season color or colors. We don’t recommend rejecting all fall colors out of hand, but rather combining your favorite off-fall color with on-season hues. Love lavender? Add cream and orchid hush to make it Fall-friendly. Regatta blue got your heart? Pair it with coffee liqueur and nougat for a ravishing, seasonal color scheme.
When picking wedding colors, do remember that too many colors together can be confusing. Two or three shades are generally ideal. You can even pull off four colors when one is strictly an accent, but when you add too many colors into the mix, the result can seem messy.
Popular Fall Wedding Colors
A theme of muted orange and green is one of the more popular high-contrast themes today. Emberglow with cedar or moss makes for an edgy, eye-catching combo.
Monochromatic brown can be a brilliant theme for fall weddings. Try putting deepest, almost black-brown with coffee liqueur and cappuccino for a great blend. A real bonus in using a monochromatic brown theme is that brown looks good on almost any skin tone.
Don’t discount red in your Fall color theme options. Romantic, vivacious red can be used in any season when paired with the right colors. For fall try deep red paired with phlox, or brick red combined with emberglow orange. Rich red is stunning when accented with moss or cedar and cream, bringing to mind fabulous bouquets of long-stemmed roses and baby’s breath.
Looking for something on the lighter side? Monochromatic yellows are wonderful for lightening up the fall color scheme. Try bamboo and beeswax with splashes of butter yellow for a fun, light hearted fall theme
Brown and pink have become a much beloved duo for weddings in recent years. Love the combo but don’t want to be passé? Add a splash of cedar to add interest and modernize the mix.
