Wedding Ideas On A Budget
Tips For Saving On Jewelry, Decor, and More...
Wedding Ideas on a Budget
It's time for your big day--the one you've been planning and dreaming about ever since you learned what a wedding was. The only real kink in your garter is how to grab the brass wedding ring and create your dream gala affair when your budget is more along the lines of a backyard Bar-B-Que.
First, relax. You can and will make it great on whatever budget you have. The real truth is that your friends and family will be focused on you, your husband to be, and the start of your new life together, not on criticizing your wedding decor. Wonderful as friends and family are, we all want our special day to be special. There are some easy ways to cut back on spending while creating a beautiful event.
Budget Bling. When choosing bridal jewelry, you don't always need all of the accessory types available. Sometimes a necklace, bracelet and earrings are too much. Find out what will best compliment you and your attendants in your gowns.

Wedding Party Gifts. A simple, classic jewelry set makes a wonderful bridesmaid or matron of honor gift. You end up with beautifully accessorized attendants while cutting back on the budget a bit.
Focus on the people more than the things. That will be where your guest's attention is. Choose accessories and decorations that directly relate to your guests. If you have to choose between alter flower arrangements or bouquets for the bridal party- choose the bouquets. All eyes will really be on you and your attendants. A single dramatic long stemmed rose carried by each bridesmaid or a colorful bouquet can be a focal point at the ceremony as well as on the head table at your reception.
In decor, less is so often more. Simple and elegant choices speak volumes about a bride. Instead of expensive floral centerpieces, you can choose a a pair of gerberra daisies in a glass vase or a few candles on a flat plate surrounded by colored glass stones or maybe sand and shells for a beach wedding.
Think about using your wedding cake as a central decoration. You can set it up on a table strewn with rose petals, with candles, seashells, or any simple decor that matches your theme.
A little tulle goes a long way. Tulle (small netting) is super inexpensive and a great way to accent a room. You can buy yards of it on the cheap and drape it around tables, columns, etc for an inexpensive, dramatic effect. Add in some silk flowers (they can be found at the dollar store)and some 1/4" satin ribbon in your theme colors and you can create a beautiful setting for your wedding or reception.
Stay the Night Locally. Ask your friends or family to set up a romantic evening at home with candles, flowers, and champagne for your wedding night. If home is not an option for a special night alone, think about a nice room rather than a suite. A friend or family member can check you in ahead of time and add special touches for your arrival. A honeymoon suite is really nice, but in reality, you will be much more focused on each other than the room.
Check out Parks and Recreation. In many cities there are gorgeous parks and well equipped indoor recreation halls owned by the city that can be rented on a small budget. These are great because you get a beautiful setting, lots of parking, and an easy venue solution for your dollar.
Whatever wedding ideas on a budget your choose, just keep it true to your style and your wedding will be perfect.
